Homemade...pizza

Tuesday I did not have school, which was amazing because well, see past blogs.   I decided that I wanted strawberry pancakes, and so I ran to the macelleria to get eggs and some milk.  I came back and made my DELICIOUS pancakes, a fried egg, and enjoyed it in the sunshine beaming through my window!  Then I sat and worked on blogs for a while, and the sun was shining so brightly that it was making me warm!  The warm part didn't last longer than the sun shining directly into my window, but the sunshine was GORGEOUS!   I talked to Nick for a while as I worked too!  It is so much fun for us to have skype, and it makes me feel like someone is really there with me!  I value this time so much!
I eventually ate lunch and then went to hang out at the fair!  Well, I actually went to buy some cranberries that I saw because they are hard to come by around here.  I walked for about an hour before I headed towards the far away grocery store, which was not so very far away at this point.  I saw a few students, and tried to just take in the sights one last time since the Fiera would end today!  I also bought one of the caramelized nut bar thingies that I had been wanting to try!  Holy cow at the sugar in my teeth (I definitely flossed TWICE and brushed my teeth like FIVE times today...no cavities for me please!).
Then I saw the game where you use a "gun" to shoot down the little targets, and it definitely had a Confederate flag on it, and I was highly disappointed.
Anyway, so I then went to the store to get some things.  I was excited to get some asparagus and other fun foods!  I walked home after that, wrote some blogs, and took a nap.  I talked to Nick for a very short amount of time, and then got ready to go eat dinner with Francisco and some others from church.  I had been battling whether I really wanted to go because it was going to be so late, but I settled on going to eat dinner, but not bowling because I knew that they would not go bowl until like 11ish and I have to be at work at 8 on Wednesday morning.  Francisco totally understood, and I was happy about this.
Hair getting longer...getting ready to go have pizza
When Francisco picked me up, he told me that we had some others to pick up, and he and I had to speak in Italian! We did, and then we picked some others up and he told them that they could speak ONLY in English!   SO, it was a ride to his house that was all in "englitaliano", which I explained to them is a term that Nick and I use for how we speak to each other.  When we arrived at Francisco's house, we all greeted each other and started mingling.  I had the opportunity to speak to Francisco's parents alone, which meant all in Italian, and I felt like I did really well.  Then I sat with his mom for a just a few minutes, and again, I felt like I did just fine!  This was very exciting for me.  Once everyone arrived, including Dashina, the girl from church that speaks English really well, we sat down to eat.  Francisco's dad made the pizzas and they were AH-MAZING!!  We had a margherita pizza, one with the thinly sliced potatoes on it (the best one of the night in my opinion), and my third piece (mind you that these are not American slices...they are small squares) was eaten because one of the Italian girls said, "Elyse, you need a third piece; you are too thin."  Well, I disagree, but I will not turn down the amazing pizza.  I was totally lost throughout the entire conversation.  Francisco caught me up on a few things such as eating rabbit, etc.  Then he tried to get me to tell the story of my train situation, but I couldn't.  He told it instead.  I eventually got to talk to Dashina and her boyfriend, in English, about American sports, etc.  Overall it was a wonderful night.  They were all going bowling, but a few of us needed to go home.  So, around 11ish, Francisco drove us home, and they went to go bowling.

I got ready for bed, talked to Nick, and went to sleep! It was an amazing day off from work, and I loved that it was so sunny!  Now, if only the apartment were as warm as it was outside! I suppose the warmth will come soon enough!
