Sick....

One Year Ago Today...I was already packing to leave Florence...and I was excited about Iron Bowl Week!
http://dreaminginitalianthistime.blogspot.it/2011/11/its-iron-bowl-week.html

I am feeling worse today...bleh!!

Breakfast...April was up at midnight so we facebook chatted it up for a little bit while I got ready for work.

Walked to work.

My first class was Valeria's and they were super attentive.  The class began with one girl practically telling me the first Thanksgiving story...once again they win the prize for most informed class!!  They were interactive...asking questions...and seemed to enjoy it!  We did not get to watch the videos, so we will pick up there tomorrow! I do really like Valeria.  She is so sweet and kind.  She wants to keep my lessons so that they can use them in the future, when they do not have an American.  So sweet!

Rosina's class was next.  It went really well.  They were very attentive and though I do not know if they understood everything, they were smiling, nodding, and said they understood.  Their speaking skills are just not there.  GEE SOUND FAMILIAR????....ME!! So, I do know how they feel, and as long as they are attentive and engaging, then I am okay with this...we will work on it.  When I had a picture saying that the first Thanksgiving probably included deer she said, "they ate Bambi??"  HAHA...we all got a big laugh out of this and I told her I feel the same way!  At the end when I had them tell what they were thankful for, the first boy to speak up said he was thankful for me and that I was there.  He said he was thankful because he thinks that I will help improve his English.  So sweet...A++ for you today my friend!  My "pretty boy", the guy who introduced himself this way, and was surprised when I addressed him that way, said that he was thankful for his pretty face.  I can tell he is joking, and it is rather endearing.  I told them that I was thankful to be in Italy, and Rosina was so appreciative that I felt that way.  It is true!  It went really well, and I think I am really going to like Rosina!

When I left, I thought I had 2 hours to make it to Valentini.  HAHA...JUST KIDDING!! I stopped in the pharmacy, but left before buying anything.  The odd bus times mean that I will always have to make the 40 minute walk to the other school, which will normally be fine.  Today, it meant that my congested chest hurt more and I could barely breathe...oh well...I like exercise and it was a gorgeous sunny day!!  I talked to Nick all the way there because he had a late start today.

When I got to school I bought a bottle of water and went to the bathroom.  I ran into Virginia and talked to her for a few minutes.  She talked to me about my computer, medicines, Naples, and once again was petting my face.  Italians are so funny!! So, we blew air kisses because I did not want to get in her face, and then I was off to class.

Francesca's class was attentive and I was impressed with how much they remembered about Thanksgiving.  She also made me give them homework.  We watched the other video...joked around a little bit, and I learned that the cosetino dialect word for broccoli is vroocoli.  Francesca talked to me after class about going to the ballet and such, so I am excited I am.

Angelino's class...my favorite group of students.  They were not as attentive today, but we still had fun.  They liked the parade, and cranberries are a lost concept in Italy.  I am so excited that they are going to teach me about all of the Christmas pastries here in Cosenza because they are all dialect things (the names).  I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!  Tony, my American student, is not coming to class tomorrow..:I told him that I am jealous!

I rode the bus home and was feeling like crap at this point....Ill eventually add a few pictures from today.

I spent the afternoon writing and packing.  April gave me a Skype tour of the house.  I talked to Nick.  I talked to my momma. The longer the day went on, the sicker I felt.

I am packed and ready for Naples.  SO EXCITED!!!
an Italian lunch...
I did stop on the way home and bought two little Christmas treats.  THe first is made with fig and honey, and the other just honey!  I did not like the fig!!
