Infection

This morning I got up a little early to say bye to Nick before he went to school because I was starting later than he was.  I got dressed, and walked to school in the SUNSHINE!!! I love it when the sun is shining and I get to enjoy it.   When I arrived at school I had to go buy a bottle of water and I saw most of Lilla's students at the bar.  I knew Lilla would not be there today, and I was slightly dreading what was ahead of me, and even more so when I saw that they were all at the bar!

When I got upstairs, some of the people from the "office" immediately bombarded me with how I was supposed to go find Virginia, and she was the substitute, etc. I was so confused for about 10 minutes, and they were just shuffling me back and forth.  Finally they took me to the classroom where Virginia was, and she contemplated bringing Lilla's students in there, but when I explained that they were left on their own, she brought them in there; only after she made me tell her that I do not have the greatest relationship with them.  She then proceeded to tell me that she could tell when they walked in the room that we did not "get along" that well.  Really, the situation is that they dont want to work and I try to make them work! Anyway, they were really quiet and respectful to Virginia and just sat in little groups and talked while Virginia and I talked.  Virginia had one of the students go get me a cornetto and juice, which was really nice.  She asked me questions about Nick, traveling, and about jobs in the U.S.  I told her that I was looking at a job in Richomond, Virginia, and she was excited to find out that it was near Nick.  Virginia talked to some of Lilla's students about trips they had been on together, and was commenting about how much they had changed since she first met them.

I was going to the 1st year class, and Virginia was walking there with me, but there was another teacher there and she insisted that she would stay because they would eat me alive, but of all the classes at this school, they are the least likely to.  Then Virginia and I went to the computer lab.  She was trying to figure out a way to get me to Tropea with Erin and Meagan, but she does not seem to understand that it is not reasonable to get there and back in one day.  She tried for like 15 minutes to find a bus to Tropea, which was just ridiculous.  She eventually gave up and left the lab for a bit to do some other things.  She told me to just take the day off and go somewhere with Erin and Meagan, but she doesn't take into account how difficult that is without a car, and I had already promised Angelino I would do the lesson on Monday. I eventually started working on blogs and talking to Nick.  When Virginia returned to the lab she started looking at wedding dresses for her soon to be daughter-in-law.  She was looking at some EXPENSIVE Spanish designers, and she was hating on some BEAUTIFUL dresses and loving some ugly ones.  I guess everyone has their own tastes.

Francesca's class was busy.  They had to take some sort of test or something, so Francesca took me to a 5th year class where they were having snacks.  The food was good!  I always love trying new sweets here because they are usually VERY good! Then we went to the lab to work with some of her students on a survery that they are doing about stereotypes of people from the Netherlands.  I learned some things about the stereotypes, but I primarily learned that they had difficulty with making questions, and they needed some help with not making leading questions.  Oh well.  Then I talked to some of the 5th years, and they do not understand English at all...how does this happen after at least 5 years of studying the language.  I do NOT understand.

I walked home from school, stopped at the discount grocery store, and I have discovered that I could have been saving some money all this time!  Well, I'll start now; anything is helpful!  I talked to Nick and he told me a funny story about eating with some Belgains and the belguim waffle they made him!  Haha...let's just say that he did not eat the last one they offered to him.

I ate lunch and then had a 2 hour lesson with Martina.  After that I went out for a walk and sat on the river wall while I waited on Nick to finish his afternoon class.
I walked the Corso, and then went home to shower and sit in the kitchen to work.  My dinner was tomatoes/olive oil cooked in a pan over some pasta, and I also had some leftover veggies.  I worked on a presentation for Linda, talked to Nick on skype all night, moved to my bedroom when it got dark, took care of random things, and started taking meds for an infection...BOOO!!  I talked to NIck, and then went to bed!
